Technology
Inside every Fortin microphone
From the M7 capsule to the nickel-plated body, every component is designed, machined, and assembled in our Canadian workshop with one goal: vintage sound, distilled through modern precision.
Capsule
M7 & M9: Gold-Sputtered Diaphragms
The M7 and M9 capsules are inspired by a legendary vintage design, refined over years of listening. Each diaphragm is coated inside a vacuum chamber, where gold is atomized and deposited atom by atom. That thin film sets the capsule's sensitivity and frequency character.

Precision Machining
Every Micron Matters
Each capsule is machined in-house to tolerances of just a few microns. All parts — whether cut in our own workshop or by trusted local specialists — are made in Canada, to the same uncompromising standard.

Emulator
VF14E Emulator: The Heart of Vintage Sound
After two years of refinement, Fortin created a modern tube emulator that preserves vintage character without expensive NOS tubes. Meticulously refined for perfect sound balance, it lets the DB7 and DB8 deliver authentic U47/U48 tone session after session.

Transformers
Custom Fortin Audio Transformers
Developed in collaboration with specialists, our custom transformers preserve the rich tonal character of vintage recordings, while providing the reliability and consistency needed for modern recording environments.

Heads
Handcrafted Heads for Ultimate Sound Quality
Every microphone head is handcrafted and carefully brazed to meet the highest precision standards. The result is a body that vibrates the way it should — and only the way it should.

Made in Canada
Nickel-Plated Perfection
Our exclusive nickel-plating formula, applied locally in Canada, gives every Fortin microphone its signature satin finish — durable, optically refined, and acoustically inert.

Circuit
Circuit Design: Optimized for Pristine Sound
Our custom circuits are engineered to maximize bandwidth and achieve the lowest possible noise floor — a transparent canvas for the capsule's voice.
